Editorial Process

The International Journal of Social Sciences and Development Review (IJSSDR) follows a structured, transparent, and rigorous editorial process to ensure the publication of high-quality, ethical, and impactful research.

1. Submission and Initial Screening

Scope and Relevance
Manuscripts must present original research, theoretical contributions, or critical reviews in social sciences and development studies, including but not limited to sociology, economics, political science, anthropology, education, and development studies. Authors should consult the journal’s Aims and Scope before submission.

Plagiarism Screening
All submissions are screened for originality using Turnitin or similar software. IJSSDR enforces a 19% similarity threshold; manuscripts exceeding this limit may be returned for revision or rejected.

Formatting Check
Submissions must adhere to IJSSDR author guidelines, including title, abstract, keywords, structured text, references, tables, figures, and ethical declarations.

2. Peer Review

Double-Blind Review
IJSSDR employs a double-blind peer review system, ensuring the identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential. Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent experts.

Reviewer Selection
Reviewers are chosen based on subject expertise and are required to declare any potential conflicts of interest. Reviews are conducted ethically, fairly, and objectively.

Review Timelines
Reviewers are requested to submit evaluations within 2–4 weeks, and the editorial office monitors progress to ensure timely communication with authors.

3. Editorial Decision

Based on reviewer recommendations, the editorial team may:

Accept the manuscript
✏️ Request minor or major revisions
Reject the manuscript

Authors receive a detailed decision letter, including anonymized reviewer comments. Revised manuscripts may undergo a second round of review if necessary.

Appeals
Authors may appeal editorial decisions by providing a written justification. Appeals are evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief or an independent editorial board member.

4. Ethical Standards

Authorship
All listed authors must have made significant academic contributions. The corresponding author ensures co-authors approve the final manuscript.

Conflict of Interest
All participants in the publication process—authors, reviewers, and editors—must disclose any conflicts of interest.

Research Ethics
Studies involving human or animal subjects must include proper ethical approval and informed consent. IJSSDR adheres to international ethical standards.

5. Post-Publication Policies

Corrections and Retractions
If post-publication issues are identified (e.g., errors, ethical concerns), IJSSDR may:

  • Issue a Correction (Erratum or Corrigendum)
  • Retract the article with full explanation
  • Notify indexing and abstracting services

Archiving
All published content is archived in secure repositories to ensure long-term access and citation durability.

6. Editorial Board Responsibilities

  • Selection and Diversity: Board members are selected for scholarly expertise and represent diverse disciplines and institutions.
  • Duties: Members participate in peer review, policy development, and maintaining academic and ethical standards.
  • Rotation: Board composition is periodically reviewed to maintain relevance and dynamism.

7. Communication and Transparency

Support for Authors
The editorial office assists with queries regarding submission status, revision instructions, and journal policies.

Professional Conduct
Interactions among authors, reviewers, and editors must be respectful, timely, and professional, fostering a collaborative academic environment.

Through this structured editorial process, IJSSDR ensures the publication of original, ethical, and high-impact research in social sciences and development studies.
