Editorial Guidelines

Introduction

The International Journal of Business, Management & Financial Insight (IJBMFI) is committed to academic excellence, ethical conduct, and editorial transparency at every stage of the publishing process. These editorial guidelines provide a clear framework for authors, editors, and reviewers to ensure the journal’s standards are maintained in a fair, consistent, and professional manner.

1. Submission and Preliminary Evaluation

Scope and Relevance

IJBMFI publishes original research that contributes meaningfully to the fields of business, management, finance, and related areas. Authors should consult the journal’s Aims and Scope to ensure alignment prior to submission.

Plagiarism and Originality Screening

All manuscripts undergo plagiarism checks using reputable detection software. IJBMFI enforces a strict plagiarism threshold of 10%, with limited tolerance up to 19% in line with HEC’s guidelines. Submissions exceeding this limit may be rejected or returned for revision.

Manuscript Formatting

Submissions must adhere to the journal’s Author Guidelines. Required components include:

  • Title and full author details

  • Abstract (150–250 words) and keywords

  • Main body (structured according to article type)

  • References in APA style (latest edition)

  • Relevant figures, tables, or appendices (if applicable)

Licensing Agreement

Upon submission, authors agree to publish under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). This allows others to download and share the work with appropriate citation, without modification or commercial use.

2. Peer Review Policy

Review Model: Double-Blind

IJBMFI follows a double-blind peer review system. Author and reviewer identities remain confidential to ensure objective and unbiased evaluations.

Reviewer Selection

Reviewers are selected based on subject expertise, research credentials, and independence from the authors. Editors ensure no conflicts of interest exist between authors and assigned reviewers.

Timelines

The standard review period is 4 to 6 weeks, although this may vary depending on reviewer availability and manuscript complexity. Editors strive to keep the process timely and transparent.

Confidentiality

All submitted manuscripts and reviewer communications are treated as confidential. Reviewers and editors must not disclose or use any information for personal or professional gain.

3. Editorial Decision-Making

Editorial Outcomes

Based on reviewer feedback and editorial evaluation, the following decisions may be issued:

  • Accept (as is)

  • Minor revisions required

  • Major revisions required (revise and resubmit)

  • Reject

Authors receive clear communication along with reviewer comments and editorial instructions.

Revision Protocol

Authors are given a defined period to submit revisions. A detailed response to reviewers outlining changes made must accompany the revised manuscript.

Appeals Process

Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a written justification. Appeals are reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief and may involve consultation with an independent expert. The final decision is binding.

4. Ethical Standards and Responsibilities

Authorship Criteria

All listed authors must have made substantial contributions to the research and approved the final version. The corresponding author is responsible for communication and consent among co-authors.

Conflict of Interest Disclosure

Authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal interests that may influence the editorial process.

Research Ethics Compliance

All research involving human participants, financial data, or organizational case studies must comply with national and institutional ethical guidelines. Where applicable, authors must obtain ethics approval and informed consent.

5. Post-Publication Policy

Corrections and Retractions

In cases of serious error or ethical violation, IJBMFI reserves the right to issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions. Authors are expected to cooperate fully during post-publication investigations.

Digital Preservation

All published articles are digitally archived in secure and accessible repositories to ensure long-term preservation and discoverability.
