Correction & Retraction Policy

Purpose
The Journal of Clinical and Experimental Health Sciences Studies (JCEHSS) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, credibility, and integrity of the scholarly record. Corrections and retractions are issued when post-publication errors or ethical concerns are identified, ensuring readers have access to reliable and transparent information.

Corrections

Corrections are issued to address mistakes that do not compromise the overall validity of the research.

Types of Corrections:

  • Erratum (Publisher-Initiated): Issued when production or editorial errors (e.g., formatting, figures, metadata) are identified.
  • Corrigendum (Author-Initiated): Issued when authors report errors in data, analysis, or other aspects of the research that need correction.

Procedure for Corrections:

  1. Errors may be reported by authors, readers, reviewers, or editors.
  2. The editorial team assesses the significance of the error and determines the appropriate correction.
  3. A formal correction notice is published, linked to the original article, and indexed in databases.

Retractions

Retractions are issued when research is fundamentally compromised due to ethical violations or critical errors.

Grounds for Retraction:

  • Research Misconduct: Plagiarism, falsification, fabrication, or unethical authorship practices.
  • Ethical Violations: Lack of institutional approval for studies involving humans or animals, or undisclosed conflicts of interest.
  • Critical Errors: Flaws in methodology or data interpretation that invalidate the conclusions.

Retraction Process:

  1. The editorial team conducts an internal review, contacting authors and institutions if necessary.
  2. Decisions follow COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines and ethical standards.
  3. A public retraction notice is issued, clearly stating the reason for retraction. The original article is marked RETRACTED but remains accessible for transparency.

Transparency & Indexing

  • All corrections and retractions are clearly labeled and permanently available.
  • Notices are indexed in bibliographic and citation databases to maintain an accurate scholarly record.

Ethical Governance
JCEHSS adheres to international publishing ethics and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan guidelines, ensuring that post-publication actions protect the integrity of scientific research.
