Author Guidelines

Pakistan Journal of Translational and Applied Medicine (PJTAM)

PJTAM welcomes the submission of original manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of translational and applied medical sciences. The journal accepts high-quality research articles, review papers, and case studies that align with its scope. Authors are requested to follow these detailed submission and formatting guidelines to ensure a smooth peer review and publication process.


Submission Instructions

Eligibility and Originality

  • Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not currently under consideration by another journal.

  • If the manuscript has been previously submitted elsewhere, authors must clearly disclose this in the “Comments to the Editor” section during submission.

Document Format

  • Submissions should be in Microsoft Word format (2016 or later).

  • Include all manuscript components (text, tables, figures, and images) in a single document.

  • Authors must be registered on the journal website prior to submission.


Manuscript Formatting Guidelines

Title and Author Details

  • Title: UPPERCASE, bold, centered, Times New Roman, 16 pt

  • Author Information: Centered beneath the title, Times New Roman, 12 pt

    • Full Name

    • Designation

    • Department, Institution, City, Country

    • Email Address

Corresponding Author
Clearly indicate the corresponding author responsible for all editorial correspondence. Provide a complete postal address, email address, and phone number (with international dialing code).


Abstract

  • Maximum length: 200 words

  • Format: Italicized, justified, Times New Roman, 12 pt

  • The abstract should briefly summarize the background, objectives, methodology, results, and conclusions of the study.


Keywords

Provide 3 to 10 relevant keywords, listed alphabetically and separated by commas. End the list with a full stop.


Word Count and Page Setup

  • Manuscripts should be between 3,500 to 6,000 words.

  • Use A4 size, 1.5 line spacing, single-sided text.

  • Margins: 1 inch on all sides

  • Header/Footer spacing: 0.5 inch from page edge


Section Structure

Use numbered headings and subheadings (e.g., 1., 1.1, 1.1.1) to organize the manuscript.
Note: The abstract and references sections should remain unnumbered.


Tables and Figures

  • Embed tables and figures within the main body of the manuscript, close to where they are cited.

  • Table titles: Above the table, bold, Times New Roman, 12 pt, centered

  • Figure captions: Below the figure, same font and style, centered


Equations and Mathematical Content

Equations and formulas must follow consistent formatting and match the main manuscript font (Times New Roman).


References

  • Use APA Style (latest edition) for all references.

  • List references alphabetically at the end of the manuscript.

In-Text Citations

  • Ensure all in-text citations correspond with full references in the bibliography.

  • Avoid citations in the abstract.

  • Unpublished results and personal communications should be cited only in the text and not listed in the reference section.

Web Sources

  • Provide complete URLs and metadata for online references, including author (if available), title, and access date.

  • Web sources may be listed with general references.


Author Biography

Each author is required to submit:

  • A short biography (50–100 words)

  • A recent passport-sized photograph

  • A completed Copyright Agreement Form


Funding and Sponsorship

Any financial support or sponsorship received for the research must be clearly acknowledged in the manuscript.
