Editorial Process

Editorial Workflow

ApexMed – Journal of Health Sciences

At ApexMed, we are committed to a transparent, ethical, and scientifically rigorous editorial process. Each manuscript submitted to the journal is carefully evaluated to ensure that it meets the highest standards of research excellence, ethical compliance, and medical relevance. The following workflow outlines the journey of a manuscript from submission to publication:

1. Manuscript Submission

All manuscripts must be submitted through the official ApexMed online portal:
???? https://scholarclub.org/index.php/ApexMed
Submissions must fully comply with the journal’s formatting, ethical, and technical guidelines, as detailed in the author instructions.

2. Initial Screening and Plagiarism Check

Upon receipt, the editorial office performs a preliminary assessment to ensure the manuscript:

  • Falls within the scope of ApexMed

  • Complies with ethical standards (including IRB/ethical approval where applicable)

  • Passes a plagiarism screening (using Turnitin or equivalent).
Manuscripts with a similarity index above 10% may be returned or rejected outright.

3. Assignment to Section Editor

Manuscripts that meet initial criteria are assigned to a relevant Section Editor or Associate Editor with subject-specific expertise. The editor evaluates the scientific quality, relevance, and novelty of the research.

4. Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts passing editorial evaluation enter the double-blind peer review process, where identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. At least two independent reviewers assess the manuscript based on:

  • Originality and scientific contribution

  • Research methodology and design

  • Clinical and/or public health relevance

  • Data integrity and statistical analysis

  • Ethical soundness and compliance

5. Reviewer Recommendations

Reviewers provide detailed evaluations and submit one of the following recommendations:

  • Accept without revisions

  • ✏️ Accept with minor revisions

  • ???? Major revisions required (Revise and resubmit)

  • Reject

6. Editorial Decision

The Section Editor, in consultation with the Editor-in-Chief if needed, makes the final decision based on the reviewers’ feedback. The corresponding author receives a formal decision letter along with anonymized reviewer comments and instructions for any required revisions.

7. Author Revisions

Authors are expected to submit revised manuscripts within the assigned deadline. The revision should include a point-by-point response to each reviewer comment. Depending on the extent of changes:

  • The revised manuscript may return to the original reviewers

  • Or it may be evaluated directly by the editorial team

8. Final Acceptance

Once all revisions are satisfactorily addressed, the editorial board issues a final acceptance. Authors are notified and the article proceeds to production.

9. Copyediting and Proofreading

Accepted manuscripts undergo professional copyediting to ensure accuracy, formatting consistency, and clarity. Authors are provided final proofs for review and approval before publication.

10. Online Publication

The final version is published in the next scheduled issue of ApexMed and made immediately open access under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0).

11. Post-Publication Promotion

ApexMed actively promotes published articles via:

  • Indexing in medical and academic databases

  • Sharing across health science communities

  • Social media and email newsletters

  • Academic partnerships and citation alerts

Authors are encouraged to share their work broadly for maximum visibility and impact.
