Correction & Retraction Policy

The Journal of Biological, Environmental, and Agricultural Insights (JBEAI) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of the scholarly record. This policy outlines how the journal handles post-publication corrections and retractions to ensure transparency and trust in published research.

Corrections

Corrections are issued when errors are identified that do not significantly affect the validity of the research findings.

Types of Corrections:

  • Erratum (Publisher-Initiated): Issued for errors introduced during the publication process, such as formatting issues, figure misplacement, or metadata inaccuracies.

  • Corrigendum (Author-Initiated): Issued when authors identify errors in their published work, such as inaccuracies in data, analysis, or interpretation that require clarification.

Correction Procedure:

  • Errors may be reported by authors, readers, reviewers, or editors.

  • The editorial team evaluates the nature and impact of the error.

  • A formal correction notice is published and linked to the original article.

  • Corrections are clearly labeled and indexed to ensure visibility and traceability.

Retractions

Retractions are issued when the validity or integrity of a published article is seriously compromised.

Grounds for Retraction:

  • Research Misconduct: Plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, or unethical authorship practices

  • Ethical Violations: Lack of ethical approval for studies involving humans or animals, or undisclosed conflicts of interest

  • Critical Errors: Major methodological flaws or incorrect data that invalidate the study’s conclusions

Retraction Process:

  • The editorial office conducts an internal investigation, which may involve authors and affiliated institutions.

  • Decisions are made in accordance with international ethical standards and COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.

  • A formal retraction notice is published, clearly stating the reasons for retraction.

  • The original article is marked as RETRACTED but remains accessible to maintain transparency in the academic record.

Transparency and Indexing

  • All correction and retraction notices are permanently available and clearly linked to the original article.

  • Notices are indexed in relevant scholarly databases to ensure an accurate and transparent record of publication history.

Ethical Commitment

JBEAI adheres to international publishing ethics and follows the guidelines of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, ensuring that all corrective actions uphold the credibility and integrity of scientific research.
