Correction & Retraction Policy

1. Purpose of Corrections

The Turing Ledger Journal of Engineering & Technology (TLJET) is committed to upholding the accuracy, credibility, and transparency of the scientific and academic record. This policy ensures that genuine errors in published articles—those that may affect interpretation, data integrity, or scholarly understanding—are addressed promptly. Corrections help preserve reader trust and the scholarly value of the journal.

2. Types of Corrections

  • Erratum (Publisher-Initiated)
Issued when an error is introduced during the production process—such as typographical mistakes, incorrect figures, or reference formatting. These corrections do not affect the core conclusions of the study.

  • Corrigendum (Author-Initiated)
Issued when authors identify substantive errors post-publication that could impact the clarity, interpretation, or reliability of the work, though the overall findings remain valid.

3. Correction Procedure

  • Detection:
Errors may be reported by authors, editors, peer reviewers, or readers.

  • Editorial Assessment:
The TLJET editorial team assesses the nature, extent, and implications of the reported error.

  • Correction Implementation:
If warranted, a formal correction notice is published. The original article remains unchanged but is clearly linked to the correction notice for transparency and traceability.

4. Visibility and Indexing

  • All correction notices are:

    • Publicly accessible on the journal’s website

    • Linked to the original article

    • Indexed in relevant academic databases for integrity and scholarly completeness

Retraction Policy

1. Purpose of Retractions

Retractions serve to withdraw published content when its scientific validity or ethical foundation is compromised. This process protects the integrity of the academic record and prevents the continued use or citation of invalid research.

2. Grounds for Retraction

  • Research Misconduct
Including confirmed cases of plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, or data manipulation.

  • Ethical Violations
Such as research without ethical approval, violations of human/animal subject rights, or undisclosed conflicts of interest.

  • Critical Errors
Major methodological or analytical flaws that render the research scientifically invalid and unrepairable via corrections.

3. Retraction Procedure

  • Inquiry and Investigation
The TLJET Editorial Board initiates a review that may involve authors, peer reviewers, or institutional/ethical bodies.

  • Editorial Decision
Based on COPE guidelines, the board determines if retraction is required.

  • Issuance of Retraction Notice
A formal retraction notice is published, detailing the reason for retraction. The original article remains accessible but is clearly labeled or watermarked as “RETRACTED.”

4. Indexing and Transparency

All retraction notices are:

  • Published openly on the TLJET website

  • Indexed in academic databases (e.g., CrossRef, Google Scholar)

  • Linked to the original article for full traceability and transparency

5. Ethical Standards and Governance

TLJET follows the ethical publishing principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and adheres to the quality assurance standards set by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. All correction and retraction actions are handled with fairness, accountability, and academic responsibility.
