Editorial Guidelines

Introduction

The Journal of Language, Literature & Social Affairs (JLLSA) is dedicated to maintaining excellence, ethical integrity, and transparency across all stages of the publication process. These editorial guidelines serve as a comprehensive framework for authors, editors, and reviewers to ensure that all submissions are handled with academic fairness, rigor, and professionalism.

1. Submission and Preliminary Evaluation

  • Scope and Relevance
Submitted manuscripts must be original contributions relevant to the disciplines of language, literature, or broader social sciences. Authors are encouraged to review the journal’s aims and scope to ensure alignment.
  • Plagiarism and Originality Check
All manuscripts are subjected to rigorous plagiarism screening using advanced detection tools. JLLSA maintains a strict similarity threshold of 10%. However, submissions falling within the HEC’s maximum allowance of 19% will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
  • Formatting Requirements
Manuscripts must be formatted according to the journal’s submission guidelines, available at:
    https://scholarclub.org/index.php/jllsa/author-guidelines.
    Required components include:
    • Title and author details
    • Abstract and keywords
    • Main body of the text
    • References
    • Relevant tables or figures
  • Licensing Terms
Authors are required to accept the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) at submission. This allows others to download and share the work with proper attribution, but without commercial use or modifications.

2. Peer Review Policy

  • Double-Blind Review
JLLSA follows a double-blind peer review model to ensure impartiality. The identities of authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout the process.
  • Reviewer Selection
Reviewers are chosen based on their subject expertise and academic credentials. Editors ensure that selected reviewers have no potential conflicts of interest.
  • Timeliness
Reviewers are expected to complete their evaluations within the agreed-upon time. Editors oversee the workflow to ensure timely communication and publication.
  • Confidentiality
All materials under review are considered confidential. Editors and reviewers must not share, use, or disclose unpublished content for any purpose other than the review itself.

3. Editorial Decision-Making

  • Outcomes
Based on peer review feedback, the editorial team may decide to:
    • Accept the manuscript
    • Request minor or major revisions
    • Reject the submission

Authors are promptly informed of the decision along with constructive feedback.

  • Revision Protocol
Authors are given a defined period to submit revised manuscripts. All changes must address reviewers’ comments clearly and thoroughly.
  • Appeal Procedure
Authors may appeal editorial decisions if they believe a valid concern was overlooked. Appeals must be submitted in writing, and the case will be reviewed by senior editorial staff.

4. Ethical Standards and Responsibilities

  • Authorship Criteria
All listed authors must have made substantial contributions to the research and manuscript preparation. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring mutual consent among all contributors.
  • Disclosure of Conflicts
Editors, reviewers, and authors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal interests that could influence the editorial process.
  • Research Ethics Compliance
Submissions must reflect adherence to institutional, national, and international ethical standards, especially for studies involving human or animal subjects.

5. Post-Publication Policy

  • Corrections and Retractions
If significant errors or ethical concerns are identified after publication, JLLSA will issue corrections or retract the article as appropriate. Authors are obliged to report such issues promptly.
  • Digital Preservation
To ensure long-term accessibility, all published content is preserved via reliable digital archiving systems.

6. Editorial Board Responsibilities

  • Selection and Appointment
Editorial board members are appointed based on scholarly merit, subject expertise, and dedication to upholding academic standards.
  • Active Participation
Board members are expected to contribute to peer review processes, provide strategic input, and assist in upholding editorial policies.
  • Term Rotation
To maintain dynamism and incorporate fresh perspectives, JLLSA periodically reviews and rotates board membership.

7. Communication Protocol

  • Author Support
Editors are responsible for addressing author inquiries related to submissions, decisions, or manuscript status in a timely and professional manner.
  • Efficient Workflow
Editorial and review communication should be prompt, respectful, and transparent, fostering a collaborative environment throughout the publication process.

By adhering to these editorial guidelines, JLLSA seeks to uphold academic integrity, facilitate meaningful scholarly dialogue, and ensure the fair and ethical dissemination of knowledge in the humanities and social sciences.
